Michael H. Molenda is Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University Bloomington, USA, where he taught from 1972 to 2005. He is co-author of the first five editions of “Instructional Media and the New Technologies of Instruction” and co-editor of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT)’s 2008 definition book, “Educational Technology: A Definition with Commentary” (as well as being author or co-author of five chapters in the book). He served as founding editor of Asia-Pacific Cybereducation Journal, 2003-2005. He has documented the history of educational technology and of instructional systems design in AECT’s “Handbook of Research on Educational Communications and Technology,” 3rd ed. (2008) and in ISPI’s “Handbook of Improving Performance in the Workplace, Vol. 1: Instructional Design and Training Delivery” (2009). He has contributed numerous encyclopedia articles on educational technology topics, including for AECT’s 2013 “Encyclopedia of Terminology for Educational Communications and Technology.”
